Soup2Nuts 2005 was a smashing success. The morning brought sedate calm before the arrival of the participants to the third Photoshop® Soup2Nuts Conference. We were ready: Presenters were in their rooms, registration packets were waiting in alphabetical order, the sun was dependably rising, and right on schedule, the attendees arrived for the opening of Photoshop Soup2Nuts 2005.

WCC College President Larry Whitworth waited in the wings to open the event while the sage corporate executive introduced him. Yes, digital imaging conferences are a dress down event. Good advice.
Ruth's Tip for Color Correction:
Grey hair is quite close to a neutral gray. In camera raw, select the White Balance tool, click on the grayest part of the hair. This will leave the picture slightly blue. Move the color temperature slider about 150 points to the right and the picture looks pretty good. I don't do the technical stuff in the family so I have to figure out another way.
This technique is great for the grandparents in the family. So make sure you have one along when you are taking pictures.

Scott Kelby opened the conference with a keynote presentation that began with the product announcement of the iPod Flea. I'm not sure what the audience was thinking. The opening 30 seconds or so were quite reminiscent of an Apple commercial.
It did not take long and Scott had Thomas up on stage sitting together comfortably chatting away on the couch.
With a bit of patient leading questioning from Scott, Thomas finally got it - the iPod Flea was a joke!

Great thought was put into the sessions by our famous presenters.
I'm wondering what might be on the screen in front of Thomas.

Our distinguished panel of Photographic experts were able to render unified opinions on the future of Copyright Law for the conference participants.

The information desk was under constant vigil. People who were well acquainted with the workings of the conference took their turn at the post.

Networking and food were two essential parts of the conference. The combination of the two went a long way in creating new relationships.

Leslie is back again this year running the Attendee Photo Gallery. Last year was a fantastic success. We had 9 winners of Epson Printers and the Creative Suite. Shelly Katz was in his element passing out printers to the winners.

Small sessions and friendly faces rounded out most of the conference.

Hands on workshops with individual instruction from the best ended each conference day.

I think that Jeff should stop by the Canon booth and request a magnifying cover for the view screen of his camera!

I found out that Dave Story could give dance instructions on the fly. Following his advice, I was able to step up to the plate and dance to Smoke on the Water!
